Umpqua Hot Springs Road Open + Cashless Payment Coming April 1

  • HSG

The road to Umpqua Hot Springs is open again! Forest Service Road #3401, closed since January 5 following winter storm damage, officially reopened on March 20, 2026. Spring soaking season is back on.

Cashless Parking Coming April 1

One change to be aware of before you go: starting April 1, the trailhead will go fully cashless. Here’s what that means for you:

  • America the Beautiful pass holders — just display your pass on the dashboard as usual, no change needed.
  • Everyone else — you’ll need to pay the $5/vehicle day-use fee through the Recreation.gov app. You can set up your account and add a payment method ahead of time, so there’s no fumbling at the trailhead.

Until April 1, cash is still accepted on-site.
