Crump Hot Geyser Near Adel in Oregon
Formerly the largest continuously erupting geyser in the United States, Crump is now a well and site of a geothermal energy development project. Crump Hot Geyser is located north of Adel and south of Plush in Warner Valley.
The picture above is of Cathlin J Barry and her sister taken during the late 50s or early 60s. She reached out and also noted that Crump was not a continuous geyser (like Old Perpetual at Hunters Hot Springs in Lakeview) and that Charlie Crump could set it off by raising and lowering a bucket of rocks into it.
Thank you, Cathlin!

“Formerly the largest continuously erupting geyser in the United States, Crump is now a well and site of a geothermal energy development project.”
Thus my love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with the concept of geothermal energy. Couldn’t this have been left as a natural wonder / tourist attraction?
